Bio
I have been told I am from another time. Could be as I am passionate about history and anything old. As a history graduate, I am also a certified Historic House Specialist, historic preservationist, antique dealer and appraiser, heirloom flower gardener. As a DAR member, I have traced 25 family ancestors back to the American Revolution. I am still actively researching my family tree on both sides and have met a lot of wonderful connected cousins on my research journey.
According to my research, most of my maternal ancestors came from Brunswick/Prince George counties in Virginia, North Carolina, but most came from Maury, Lawrence and Giles counties in Tennessee to Texas by wagon in the 1800's. A few of the maternal surnames I am researching are -
Owen*Bass*Brown*Harwell*McKnight*Abernathy* Strickland*Tongate*Richardson*Jackson*Washington* Paine*Cobb*Westmoreland*Lanier*Gibson*Gillespie* Thompson*Williams*
Most of my paternal ancestors came from Virginia, Tennessee, Georgia, South Carolina and Oklahoma. A few of the paternal surnames I am researching are -
Smith*Ivy*Day*Dixon*Trimble*Shackelford*Evans* Clemens*Sherman*Adams*Lewis*Clark*Woodson*Winston*
Moorman*Candler*Johnston*Walker*Tilghman*Munday*
I am seriously stuck in researching my dear gg grandmother Amanda Brown(1827-1855) who married John Batte Owen in Tennessee in Maury Co, TN in 1843..and stuck on my paternal side my dear gg grandmother Dialpha Dixon (1809-1885) who married Lewis Day in Georgia. I cannot find Amanda or Dialpha's parents names. If you can help solve this mystery, please contact me. Thank you!
Blessings to you! Paula
