I am a native of North Carolina, compliments of the US Marine Corps. Born in 1953, I was raised on the go, living at military bases around the country, including Great Lakes, IL, El Toro, CA, Pearl City, HI, and then back to my parents' native Pennsylvania where I graduated from Gettysburg High School in 1971. In 1975, I graduated from Albright College in Reading, PA with a BS in Nursing. Marrying my high school sweetheart, Michael, that same year, we moved to Quarryville, PA, and have been in the area for most of the past 35 years. I am a nursing supervisor at Lancaster General Hospital and he is the founder and headmaster of Dayspring Christian Academy, both in Lancaster, PA. We have 3 adult children and 7 grandchildren.
I have always been interested in my "roots", having the uncommon maiden name of "MERRY". So, I started with GenForum and have had lots of success with certain ancestral lines, and no luck at all with others. But, it is addictive; I've lately been spending my evenings searching graveyards while my husband is working on his doctorate. 2013 update--husband completed his doctorate, and we now have 8(going on 9!) grandchildren!!!
