I live in Chandler, Maricopa Co., Arizona. I have 2 sisters and 2 brothers who all live within 15 miles of my home. I have been married to James W. Craig since Dec. 21, 1956, and we have three daughters; six grand-daughters, one grandson, and 6 great-grandchildren.

I'm retired and actively work on family genealogy. I'm an avid collector of family stories and old photographs -- both of family members and cemetery headstones.

My father was Luther Porter Carpenter, born 1914 in the Altitude area of Prentiss Co., MS; son of Reuben Edward Carpenter and Willie Mary Smith; paternal great-grandparents were Solomon Carpenter and Martha Lougenia Flanagan; Sarah Susan Barnes and John J. Smith. My father's ancestors all lived in the northeast area of Prentiss Co. Those ancestors include Carpenter, Marlar, Flanagan, Robinson, Steenson, Jones, Manuel, Davidson, Barnes, Smith, and Johnson.

My mother was Lillian Ozora Eaton, born 1913 near Jumpertown, Prentiss Co., MS; daughter of Fredie Oscar Eaton and Rosa Isabell Strange; my maternal great-grandparents were Sylvester "Vess" Eaton and Nancy "Nannie" Matilda Mauldin; Edward Monroe Strange and Eliza Elizabeth Beaty. Mother's ancestors lived in the northwest area of Prentiss Co., and in Tippah Co. Those ancestors include Eaton, Strange, Beaty, Boyd, McAlister, McGill, Mitchell, Peach, Mauldin, Boyd, Harrell, and Porter.

My parents died in Maricopa Co., Arizona and are buried in Double Butte Cemetery, Tempe, AZ.
