Born in Newton County, TX in 1941 as eldest child of Denton and Adalene Smith Moody. Graduated Hemphill High School in 1959. Married John Wesley Cordray in 1966. Graduated Panola Junior College in 1971 and received B. S. degree from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1973. Taught school at Carthage ISD in Carthage, TX from 1973 through 2001. Member of Delta Kappa Gamma. Serves as president of UMW of Pisgah UMC and as communion steward. Now retired with husband John in Carthage. He retired as a teacher with 28 years experience and retired after serving 12 years as county judge of Panola County.
