Bio

Interested in family history since the late 1960s, when my paternal grandfather refused to talk about his family. I probably know more now about his family than he ever did while living.

Eventually earned my master's degree in history in 2005. Thesis was the Huguenot influence on the Baptist religion. Hint: both groups were Calvinist.

Immediate family lines include Goin (in all its various spellings), Garrett, Eanes, Littrell, Jones (as in the Welsh Jones arriving in America mid-1800s to mine slate in Maryland and southern Pennsylvania), Sizer, Porter, Bowyer, Reynolds, and many other lines that expand the line through remarriages and slim the line down through cousin marriages (we all have them if you have ancestors in the states in the 1800s or earlier). I also have researched various Huguenot lineages for my research, because -- yes -- some of them are my ancestors, too.
