I was born in Burlington, Alamance County, NC My family moved to Cherryville in 1945. I'm the son of Thomas Daniel Gurley and Gladys Horton Gurley. I graduated from Lenoir Rhyne College in 1964 and joined the USAF from 1965-1969. Then finished my duty at Castle AFB, Merced, California. Went to work in San Francisco for Bechtel Corp from 1972 to 1999 when I retired. I'm now living in Walnut Creek, CA since 1981. I'm current Registrar for the past 8 years ( 3 of which I was President) of the Thomas Jefferson Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution. I am the current member and Cantor at Hope Lutheran (ELCA) Church in Rossmoor, Walnut Creek, CA
