Bio

I am the Secretary/Treasurer of the Twelve Corners Cemetery, which is located in the Township of Center in Outagamie County, Wisconsin. This two acre cemetery is a Ministry of St. John United Church of Christ in Appleton, WI. This Cemetery was a part of St. Matthews (St. Matthias) Lutheran Church. After St. Matthews Church closed and was torn down in 1930's the cemetery became an over grown poison ivy infested cemetery. Gary Koerner took on cemetery, as an Eagle Scout project, with help from his dad, Bob Koerner's Boy Scout Troup and resurrected the cemetery. A group of relatives of persons buried there then took charge of it from the 1970's until the 1990's.

St. John U.C.C. took on cemetery as an outreach program of the church in 1995 and since then has improved it more and created a garden for scattering ashes and an angel plot for infants. It is a very nice country cemetery and have had many burials since the church decided to make it a ministry of the church.

I have many relatives buried at the Twelve Corners Cemetery and have been doing genealogy since 1980. I have a copy of church records since its beginning in the 1880's. Most of the records are in the old German Script. After the church closed it's doors some families removed loved ones and had them buried at other cemeteries, but not many.

I am very pleased to see that others have visited Twelve Corners Cemetery to take pictures of grave monuments and are using Find A Grave to do research on their family history. My husband, Robert passed away August 1, 2010 and his ashes are now in the cremation garden.
