Bio

My name is Robert Lee "Bob" Alvey, Sr. I've been researching primarily the Alvey families that descend from Joseph Alvey, a man who immigrated from Knotting, Bedfordshire, England abt 1657. He was transported to America by a tobacco plantation owner named Robert Cole as an indentured servant for 7 years. His descendants lived in Maryland for abt 150 years before many of them migrated to the new frontier's of Kentucky and today are represented in all 50 states. I have also spent a number of years researching my wife's family. She is Ann Louise DiMeglio, her father was John Joseph DiMeglio and mother was Filomena Katherine "Phyllis" Trani. Her four grandparents immigrated from the small island of Ischia located off the Bay of Naples in southern Italy. Hundreds of Italians from this region settled in another small town in southern California called San Pedro and the place is still occupied by hundreds of their descendants. Ann & I maintain these Find A Grave memorials equally although I do much of the typing.

Ann & I willingly make transfers within the 4 generation "Find A Grave" guidelines which are:
Spouses, Parents, Brothers and Sisters, Children, Grandchildren, Great-grandchildren, Grandparents, and Great-grandparents. (and the above relatives for your spouse.) Please use the "EDIT" tab to ask for each transfer. Please state your exact relationship to the deceased.

For extended family members, (aunts, uncles, cousins, great-greats, etc.) we will gladly make additions, corrections or links. Please use the "Edit" tab on the upper right side of the memorial to send the information and please send the memorial numbers for links. Thank you to all who have sent additional information and links for the memorials.
