Dennis, a member of the famous Coltart golfing family of Scotland and the United States, was an avid golfer and the grandson of golf professional William Maxted Coltart and Edith (Button) Coltart of Scotland and great great grandson of golf professional James Coltart and Sara (Maxted) Coltart of Scotland. Great great great grandson of Alexander and Elizabeth(Maxwell) Coltart, of Scotland,also a golf professional. Great great great great Grandson of Walter and Janet (Carruthers)Coltart. He is the nephew to the late Bruce Coltart of New Jersey and thirty year golf professional of Seaview Golf Resort and charter member of the PGA and a competitor in the 1936-40 & 42 U.S.Opens and 1941 Masters Tournaments. Great nephew to Frank Coltart, former golf professional at Sunnybrook Country Club and a competitor in the 1921 U.S. Open 1922-23 PGA Championship,1906 Open at Muirfield; and PGA Pro Rodney (Margaret Fleming)Coltart; former Pennsylvania State University star amateur. Dennis is a volunteer Golf Rules Official for the AJGA, NAIA, NCAA, NGA, and PGA-USGA Qualifiers. Dennis is a graduate of South High School, Macomb College,IUPUI and National Aviation Academy.
