From Juliaetta's obituary, Tomah Journal, May 2, 1924: Juliaetta Whitney was born at Henderson, Jefferson County, N.Y., May 26, 1848. She lived there until at the age of 12, when her mother passed away, then they moved to Belvidere, Ill., where they lived for a short time. Later they lived in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. On Sept. 6, 1873, she was married to Chas. Lea of this city and here they spent most of their married life. Mr. Lea passed away about eleven years ago. Since that time she has made her home with her children. To Mr. and Mrs. Lea were born two children, Mrs. Willis Wallace of Beach, N.D., and Mr. Edgar Lea of Hankinson, N.D. Mrs. Lea was a member of the M.E. Church for many years. She united in Tomah and later transferred her membertship to the M.E. Church of Beach, N.D., in which fellowship she lived so as to endear herself to all. Her consistent Christian life and genial disposition were a real benediction. Speaking kindly of all and evil of none made her a welcome guest, and to be highly respected, not only in the church, but by all who knew her. She leaves to mourn her loss the two children and eight grandchildren, with a host of relatives and friends, who will miss her, but hope to meet her in the land of the unsetting sun. Those from out of town attending the funeral were Mr. S.E. Compton of New Lisbon; Mr. Arthur Lea and daughter of Black River Falls; Mrs. J. H. Patterson of Fox Lake, Wis. Rev. Willett of Black River Falls conducted the funeral services which were held Wednesday, April 30, at the home of Joseph Newsome. Interment was made in Oak Grove Cemetery..
