Louise Anna Mense, 95, Grinnell, died on Feb. 11, 2004 at the Logan County Manor, Oakley.

Louise was born on May 6, 1908 to Henry and Mary Haverkamp Ostmeyer at rural Angelus. She was a lifeitme area resident of the Angelus and Grinnell area. Her mother Mary passed away at a young age in 1924. Henry then married Clemie Welch in 1926.

On Nov. 27, 1930 she married Lawrence H. Mense in Grainfield. She was a homemaker.

Louise was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church and St. Mary's Altar Society, Grinnell; past member of St. Paul's Church and St. Ann's Altar Society, Angelus; and a member of the Daughters of Isabella of Angelus and Grinnell.

Suvivors include her son Rodney J. Mense and wife Frances; daughters Joan L. Weinhardt and husband Sonny, Janice M. Zerr and husband Eddie; brother Henry Ostmeyer Jr.; two sisters Eleanor Wilcox and Appie Bechard; 7 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.

Those preceding her in death were her parents; step-mother Clemie; husband Lawrence (1995); a daughter Johanna M. Mense (1932); grandson Steve Zerr (1977); brothers Fred, Tony, Bob and Ralph Ostmeyer; and sisters Hilda Mense and Millie Organ.

Funeral service was held on Sat. Feb. 14, at 10:30 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church in Grinnell with Fr. Roger Meitl officiating. Burial was in the Immaculate Conception Church, Grinnell.
