Mrs. Gertrude M. Valen, 87, died Saturday at Kittitas Valley Community Hospital. She had come to the Ellensburg area a short time ago from her home in Alhambra, Calif., to be near members of her family.

She was a member of the All Souls Catholic Church in Alhambra. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Anna Mueller of Spokane and many nieces and nephews including Melvin Wippel and Mrs. Al Lundstrom, both of Ellensburg.

Mrs. Valen will be returned to Alhambra for funeral services Saturday at All Souls Catholic Church. Burial will be in the family plot at the Resurrection Cemetery in Alhambra.
