Adelaide Gannon Bullard spent time in France before her marriage and got to know Marie Sklodowska Curie the famous scientist who was the first to win two Nobel prizes. When Mme. Curie came to New York Adelaide was her interpreter. Adelaide was given a signed copy of Marie's biography about her husband Pierre Curie - see photo.
