Born in Kentucky, according to some records and born in Missouri on others. Raised in the Silex "Bunker Hill area" Missouri. Grew up with the Cox', Clares, Wommachs, Mumphards, Sittons, Stephens and many more. Married long time friend Tabithaa Cox and they had three children 1) Tabethaa (Spelling on headstone and cemetery census) 1875-1877 2) Nancy Eda Perkins Baldwin 1876-1943 (Terry Texas) and 3) James Soloman Perkins 1873-1940. When I first found Perkins Cemetery, while photographing Cox Cemetery, just happened to glance over my shoulder and seen that there were more headstones, but across a couple barbwire fences, of course went over there and found Soloman Perkins, knocked over by a tree and covered in mud. Cleaned it up and Soloman appeared! After having it verified thru "Gone But Not Forgotten" books at the Lincoln County Genealogical Society, I realized there were 2 seperate cemeteries, same coordinates.
