Major Harold G. Campbell Jr. served as a commissioned officer, command pilot, and flight training instructor with the United States Air Force during World War II and the Korean War. He retired from active duty in 1962 after almost twenty-three years of service to his country. His passions included fishing and camping, visiting his children and grandchildren, and enjoying his well earned retirement years. He was a complicated and accomplished man, who's devotion to duty, conviction, and intensity were commensurate with others of his generation. The man never gave up until his dying day despite a host of medical challenges and he made sure that those around him aspired to excellence and achievement. His guidance, support, and encouragement will be missed, but our memory of his life will forever remain.
