Joel Adamo, 44, of Freehold Township, died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, at St. Francis Medical Center, Trenton. He was born in Lakewood. He was the owner and operator of Joel's Garage, Inc., Robbinsville and J. Adamo Trucking, Freehold. Joel was a member of the Antique Automobile Club of America. Joel was a hard working, loving, and devoted husband, father, son and brother. He was a caring and generous person who was known for helping others and his unique laugh. Joel enjoyed camping with his wife and children, riding his Harley, attending antique car shows, and driving his Peterbilt.

He was predeceased by his mother, June Adamo. Surviving are his wife, Karen Schwerthoffer Adamo; two children, James and Jessica; his father and stepmother, Joseph and Jane Adamo; two sisters, Desiree Giglio and Janie Adamo; a stepbrother, his stepsisters; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Anton and Kathy Schwerthoffer; and his brothers-in-law, Richard, Thomas, and Donald and their spouses.

The viewing will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24 at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center St., Freehold. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 25 at the funeral home, followed by interment at Adelphia Cemetery, Adelphia. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations care of the family would be appreciated.
