FARMERS BRANCH - Homer L. Aaron, 80, of Farmers Branch, passed away Friday, October 19, 2012, at the Denton Regional Hospital in Denton. He was born May 27, 1932 in Westminster to Jim Aaron and Ruby Bowie Aaron. He married Johnnie Parks December 24, 1953 in McKinney.

He was preceded in death by his son, Norman Aaron; parents, Jim and Ruby Aaron; brothers, Jerry and Ronnie Aaron. Homer is survived by his wife, Johnnie Parks Aaron; daughters, Brenda Aaron Carter, Linda Aaron Tarkington; grandchildren, Nichole Adams, Jonathan Carter, Joshua Carter, Brianna Tarkington; great-grandchildren, Kolbie Howard, Lainey Thompson; brothers, Jimmie Aaron, Wayne Aaron; sisters, and brothers-in-law, Barbara Beard and husband Jimmy, Carolyn Beaty and husband Randal, Marie Till and husband Don, and Bobbie Phillips and husband John; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was a very family oriented man, loving his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a machinist for Telsco Industries for several years. He held certification in Real Estate, Pesticide, and HVAC. He was a proud member of the Masonic Lodge, and a very proud member of the United States Army. He will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 24, 2012, at the Scoggins Funeral Home Chapel in Van Alstyne. Rev. Mark Fletcher of the Elmont Baptist Church will be officiating. A military graveside will follow at the Van Alstyne Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Jerry Aaron, Ronny Aaron, Tony Beard, Greg Beaty, Shawn Wright, Billy Buckelew, and Tyler Buckelew. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Aaron, Wayne Aaron, John Phillips, Jimmy Beard, Randal Beaty, and Don Till.
