Aunt Noo Noo never married although she did have a "friend" while living in Silex. She mainly worked at the Rosedale nursing home, right behind her home and would walk up the bluff to it. Her nieces and nephews always enjoyed when she was around because they said she made the best fried chicken!

Eunice Marie Mabry, 90, of Silex, and formerly of Hawk Point, died Monday, November 26, 2001, at Silex Community Care Center. Ms. Mabry had worked as a cook for Hatfield's Restaurant in Elsberry and Middle Swartz's Restaurant in Silex. She also had worked as an aide and cook at Beck's Nursing Home in Silex. She was a member of Hawk Point Community Church. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. today at Kemper-Marsh Funeral Home, Main and Lincoln Streets, Hawk Point. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Cyrene, Mo. Among survivors are a sister, Vivian Eveland of Troy.
