Son of Charles Henson and Elizabeth McAlester.

Daniel Henson is the progenitor of (very likely) most of the Hensons of Haywood County, North Carolina. Especially those of the Henson Cove area.

Daniel Henson was a substitute for his father, who was drafted, in the Revolutionary war. He entered into service on March 10, 1781 in Culpepper, Virginia. He was in the siege at Yorktown, Virginia where Cornwallis surrendered. He served a total of 18 months before being discharged in September of 1782.

Daniel swore in open court of his service in the war and how he was discharged in South Carolina where he had the "Ague and fever" and didn't get back to Culpepper, Virginia until February of 1783 where he stayed until April 1784. He then moved to Chatham, NC where he lived until December 1784 and then he moved back to Culpepper. He stayed there until May 1786 then returned to Chatham, NC. He stated that he made one crop then moved to Anson County, NC where he lived until 1798. And where he married his wife Fariba Pool in July 1788. Then he moved to Haywood County, NC where he lived the remainder of his life. Daniel died January 1, 1843 in Haywood, NC.

Fariba Pool Henson applied for Daniel's pension on March 18, 1844 in Haywood County, NC at 75 years of age. She was deceased by 1851. The couple's son, Absalom Henson made affidavit on September 17, 1844 in Haywood County , NC and stated he was born on October 17, 1790. Other children who were mentioned: Allen Henson who was born September 22, 1797. Loyd was born December 27, 1789, Wiley was born August 20, 1793, Aaron was born December 28, 1798, a daughter Charlotte Henson Cobb was in Union County , GA in 1851. Absalom and Loyd served in the war of 1812. Elijah Henson was another son, but wasn't mentioned.
