Katherine E. Ale, nee Baum, 85, wife of the late Charles Ale, Jr., of Glassboro, NJ, passed away on Friday, June 15, 2012, in Kennedy Memorial Hospital, Washington Twp. Kass was born in Camden, NJ, and has been a resident of Glassboro for over 60 years. She was a housewife who enjoyed playing Bridge, traveling and taking day trips, but her real joy was being with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church, Glassboro, for over 60 years, serving in many capacities. She was also a member of the Glassboro Woman's Club. Kas was pre-deceased by her son, Charles Ale III, and is survived by 3 sons, Rev. Mark Ale and his wife, Catherine, of Bound Brook, NJ, Jay Ale and his wife, Eileen, of Turnersville, and Dana Ale and his wife, Joelyn, of Sewell; one daughter, Kimberly J. Ale of Glassboro; 8 grandchildren, Alison Spera, Carlie Sofka, Joanna Ale, Jonathan Ale, Heather Ale, Spencer Ale, Christopher Ale, Lindsey Ale; and 3 great grandchildren, Sophia Spera, Olivia Spera and Nicholas Spera. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 18, 2012, at 11:00 AM in First United Methodist Church, 60 State Street, Glassboro, NJ 08028, where friends may call after 9:00 AM. Burial will be in Manahath Cemetery, Glassboro. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions to the Scholarship Fund of First United Methodist Church at the above address.
