OBITUARY :
DENNIS E. BACHTELL, 55, of 313 Reservoir Ave., died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004, at Waynesboro Hospital.

Born May 1, 1949, in Waynesboro, he was the son of Richard Jesse Bachtell of Waynesboro and the late Ima Mae Ruth Karn Bachtell.

He was a 1967 graduate of Waynesboro Area Senior High School and attended Hagerstown Junior College.

Since 1984, he worked as a federal employee for the Department of Defense at Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersburg, Pa.

He served in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Vietnam War.

He attended Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waynesboro.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Bonnie K. Scott Bachtell, whom he married July 3, 1972; one son, Scott D. Bachtell of Chambersburg; two sisters, Nancy Watson of Waynesboro and Janet Shank of Hagerstown; one brother, Ronald Bachtell of Burton, Mich.; nieces; and nephews.

Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro. The Revs. Richard A. Seaks and Stephen D. Harris will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to Antietam Humane Society, 8513 Lyons Road, Waynesboro, PA 17268; or Waynesboro Area Human Services, 24 E. Main St., Waynesboro, PA 17268.
