He attended South Hagerstown High. He was an amateur radio operator and a member of the Antietam Radio Association.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Oclavia Bulls, at home; paternal grandparents, Mrs. and Mrs. J. Melvin Butts, Hagerstown, and maternal grandfather, Harry Semler, Hagerstown.
Funeral services were held at the Minnich Funeral Home; interment was in Mountain View Cemetery, Sharpsburg.
