FUNERAL services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 31, 1996 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church for Marie Dula Simon Faulk, 75, who died on Wednesday, August 28, 1996 at St. Mary Guest Home in Morgan City. A native of Kaplan, Mrs. Faulk was a resident of Morgan City for 45 years until she returned to Kaplan for retirement.
Survivors include a son, Joseph Clifford Faulk, Sr. of Kaplan; a daughter, Mrs. Johnie (Allie Ella Rose) Dozar of Amelia; a brother, John Inson Simon of Kaplan; 5 grandchildren: Briant, Rand and Casey Dozar, Melissa Coats and Jay Faulk; 10 great-grandchildren: Brandon, Lauren, Allison, Danielle, Grand and Ashlynn Dozar, Jessica and Alissa Faulk and Erin and Trinity Coats; and 1 step-great-grandchild, Chad Dugas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Hanson Faulk; a brother, Pierre Simon; and her parents, Eloadias Simon and Rosa Thibodaux.
Pallbearers were: John Inson Simon, Jay Faulk, D. J. Ponville, Briant Dozar, Randy Dozar and Casey Dozar.
Burial was at Kaplan Cemetery with Father Barry Crochet officiating the services and Vincent Funeral Home of Kaplan in charge of the arrangements.
