An exact Twin of his Brother Alexander F. Campbell.

Killed in the War between the States (US Civil War) in Virginia. Battle of the Wilderness, fought May 5–7, 1864.
Then US Colonel Lewis A. Grant (to be a, Brig General and Medal of Honor awarded) commanded him and all the others this fateful day.


Then the Lt. General U.S. Grant ordered an early morning assault down the Orange Plank Road by the II Corps and Getty's division. It was his first Battle with CSA Gen. Robert E. Lee.



The Vermont Brigade was made up of five regiments commanded by Col. (to be Brigadier General) Lewis A. Grant. The veteran brigade entered the battle with 2,800 men and lost 1,200 casualties holding the south flank of the Army of the Potomac against fierce attacks by Longstreet's Confederate First Corps on May 6, 1864

Born in Putney, Windham County, Vermont, US on September 11th, 1841 to Clark Brown Campbell and Mrs. Harriet Mead Campbell. He passed away on 6th of May, 1864 in Virginia, US.
His parents lost his twin brother Alexander F. Campbell that year as well.
