A Decatur tree trimmer was killed about 4:20 pm, yesterday when he came in contact with a high tension electric wire while working on a boulevard on Oak Ridge Drive. David E(Irish) McQueen 42, of 1272 E. Locust St. was declared dead on arrival at St. Marys hospital.
Born in Newman March 15, 1913, he was the son of Richard and Lorena Jackson McQueen. He came to Decatur from Newman in 1929. He was a member of the Christian church at Newman. He married Adeline Williams, July 10, 1935 in Decatur. Besides his wife he leaves eight children, Beverly, 19, James 17, Judy 15, William 13, Janet 11, Lloyd 9, Dennis 6,and Rickey 3. Also surviving are three sisters,Mrs.Opal Wilcox, Newman, Mrs.Thelma Darrough, Hume, Mrs.Bernice Ferguson, Hammond and three brothers, Ralph, Decatur, James, Newman and Richard, Decatur. Two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
The body is a the J. J. Moran & Sons funeral home. Arrangements are incomplete.
