Married Amanda Jane Wright 20 Oct 1859 in Independence county Arkansas. Her father was from Georgia and her mother from Mississippi.

Ezekial A Mauldin's family were settlers of the historical Cuthand Red River county Texas in the mid-1850's. The town really started to grow in the 1860's when E A established a grist mill and cotton gin. The Mauldin family were successful farmers.

He was also a Post Master of the town of Cuthand Red River county Texas on 26 Dec 1883. The town lost the Post Office on 30 Sept 1953 for lack of population.

He served as a second Lieutenant in the 8th Arkansas Company H, and the 32nd Company H, Confederate Army.
