Charlotte Echols Adams, age 88 of Monroe and Decatur, GA died Wednesday night, May 21, 2008.
She is survived by
1 son of Tifton
2 dauthers and sons in law of Loganville
9 grandchildren,
12great grandchildren
The way she lived her life is an inspiration to her family and friends. She had a varied career as a teacher that ranged from teaching in the first Head Start program through Elementary and High School. Her last years teaching were spent at Peachcrest Elementary in Decatur.
After retirement she began her second career as an artist. She studied with some of America's foremost artists. She painted in oils, acrylics and watercolor. She then spread her marvelous talent by teaching in her home studio as well as at Soapstone Art Center in South DeKalb and the Art Station in Stone Mountain. She never let her students leave with anything less than a beautiful painting. She felt one of her callings was bringing people of different races, religions and life styles together though a love of art and painting. Many of her students became the best of friends and remain so today after spending time in her classes.
She was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and spread her joy in her relationship with God everywhere she went. She will be missed in ways we still cannot even imagine.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 24 at 10am at First Baptist Church of Monroe with Dr. Glen Money officiating. Interment will be held at 2pm at Midway Cemetery, Forsyth County.
