Grandpa Ralph would not talk about his father, Simon Peter Warren. Simon was a peddler, selling ax handles. Simon left the family on their own when Ralph was 13 years old, about 1914. When Margaret had a break down and was sent to the hospital, grandpa Ralph, took on the responsibility of his siblings. Simon divorced Margaret, September 17, 1923. He remarried in 1924, and had a another child. This marriage ended in divorce also. Toward the end of his life, he lived in the basement of the Clarksville Courthouse.
