July Ann was born in Hall County, Georgia, to Harmon Thomason and Matilda Barton. She married Zachariah Collins in Hall County, Georgia in 1847. She was the mother of Nancy, Elisha "Hayden," and Sarah. She died when Sarah was a baby in 1860, at about 29-years-old. She and her husband moved to Fulton, Arkansas in the mid to late 1850s. The last census she was in was the year of her death, it listed them as being in Big North Fork, Fulton, Arkansas. After her passing, her family later ended up in the Pittsburg County, Oklahoma area.
