Vernon was born in Muskogee, OK, graduated from Central High School. He served in the Air Force from 1941 to 1963. After retiring from the Air Force, Vernon worked for Singer Link.
Vernon is survived by his wife of 61 years, Catherine; daughters Cyndy (Keven) of Yakima, WA, Dawn (Brian) of San Jose. Grandchildren: Jennifer, Elizabeth, Doug, Ben, Sarah and Jon. Great-grandchildren: Josiah, Isaac and Colin. He is also survived by his sister Margaret Castile and numerous nieces and nephews.

11 a.m. - 1 p.m. with a funeral service immediately following at 1 p.m. at
Darling - Fisher, 615 N. Santa Cruz, Los Gatos. Burial to follow at Los Gatos Memorial Park.
