He retired as a Production Analyst at Kaiser Aluminum where he worked for 39 years. He was a member of the Zanesville First Church of the Nazarene and was a fan of the Cincinnati Reds and the Ohio State Buckeyes. He enjoyed woodworking, and had worked for Mock Woodworking for 17 years after his retirement.
He is survived by
his beloved wife, Naomi Brandom Satterfield, whom he married August 18, 1953;
a son, Daryl (Tammy) Satterfield of Zanesville;
two daughters, Deb (Charlie) Buden of Cincinnati and Melissa "Spark" Satterfield of Newark;
a former son-in-law, Larry Frye of Coshocton;
two grandchildren, Matthew (Jessica) Satterfield of Springfield, MO and Sam Satterfield of Denver, CO;
a step grandson, Clint Frye of Lima;
two brothers, Dorsey (Sylvia) Satterfield of Crooksville and Roger (Sarabelle) Satterfield of Zanesville;
several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was also preceded in death by
three sisters, Eileen Shaffer, Jean Stewart and Phyllis Delong;
two brothers, Ray and Morris Satterfield.
Funeral service at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville, OH with Pastor Steve Dupler and Fred Taylor officiating. Burial in Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
