The funeral for Elzare J. Benware, 56, who died unexpectedly about 2:30 a m. Sunday at his home, 10 Lake st., Piercefield, was held at 9 a. m. Tuesday at St. Paul's Church in that village. Interment was in Holy Name Cemetery here. Mr. Benware suffered a heart attack had and had seen out hunting with his wife Saturday afternoon. He was born at Montreal, Que , Dec. 13, 1905, the son of Samuel and Delosa Boulanger Benware. The family moved to Piercefield 53 years ago and he had since made his home In that village. During the past 20 years he was In the employ of the New York State Department of Public Works, first as a highway patrolman and more recently as an equipment operator. Surviving are his wife, the former Lena Papin, whom he married at Piercefield 35 years ago; one son. Benny Benware now of the Bronx, six brothers: Romeo, Ames and Leo Benware all of Tupper, Jospeh of Corinth; Mondosa Benware of Piercefield, and William Benware in Pennsylvania; two sisters, Mrs. Blanche Reil of Syracuse and Mrs. Corinne Burse of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and three grandchildren.
