Mr. Arthur Odell McKennon, 68, a resident of the Cecil Farm Road in the Hampshire Community died Sunday, October 31, 2004 at Maury Regional Hospital in Columbia, TN.

Funeral services for Mr. McKennon will be conducted Wednesday November 3, 2004 at 10:00a.m. at Williams Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant with the Reverend William Owens officiating. Entombment will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will visit with friends Monday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

The Maury County native was the son of the late Bud and Inez Odom McKennon. He was the husband of Patricia Cothran McKennon. Mr. McKennon was the retired owner and operator of McKennon Trucking in Mt. Pleasant and a farmer and professional grandfather. He was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Free Will Baptist Church and a member of the Men’s Club in the Hampshire Community.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Jackie (Sharon) McKennon of Summertown, TN, Buddy (Sandra) McKennon of Hampshire Community, Eddie (Ruby) McKennon and Cathy (Carl) Lovett both of Mt. Pleasant, TN, David (Jannette) McKennon of Hampshire Community; three sisters, Ethridge Copeland, Ina Ruth Boshers and Susie (Larry) Chatman all of Mt. Pleasant, TN; sixteen grandchildren, J.J. (Tanner) McKennon, Holly (Phillip) Wilson, Christie (Mike) Goats, Buddy (Kathy) McKennon, Jr., Wendy (Kenny) Hicks, Patty (Brad) King, Kevin McKennon and Chad (Tiffany) Pugh, Angel McKennon, Eddie “Bubba” McKennon, Jr., Alan (Melanie) Lovett, Blake Lovett, D.J. McKennon, Cody McKennon, Lauren McKennon, Lucy McKennon; great -grand children, Millie, Macy, Mason McKennon, Ashley, Brooke, Reese Wilson, Miranda and Will Goats, McKenzie McKennon, Austin Hicks, Brooke Gentry, Peyton King, Katie Pugh and Jaida Lovett; several nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Ruby Cothran of Hampshire.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Theresa Smith; three brothers, J.L. McKennon, Kenneth McKennon, and Lonnie McKennon; a granddaughter Megan McKennon.

Pallbearers will be Jackie McKennon, Buddy McKennon, Sr., Eddie McKennon, David McKennon, Alan Lovett, Buddy McKennon, Jr., Kevin McKennon, J.J. McKennon, Blake Lovett, Carl Lovett.

Honorary pallbearers will be Staff and patients of Gambro Dialysis Center, Men of Hampshire Community, Members of the Free Will Baptist Church, D.J. McKennon, Cody McKennon, Eddie McKennon, Jr., Phillip Wilson, Mike Goats, Kenny Hicks, Brad King, and Chad Pugh.
