Walter “Sonny” Lee Cross, 87, of Marissa, IL; born October 6, 1924 in DuQuion, IL; passed away on September 26, 2012 at his home in Marissa, IL.
Mr. Cross was a World War 2 United States Navy veteran serving in the South Pacific. He was a member of the Bricklayers Local 8. Sonny was an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing and hunting.
He was preceded in death by his parents John and Lucretia, nee Davison, Cross. His loving wife Patricia, nee Givens, Cross whom he married on June 22, 1946 and who passed away on August 22, 2009. 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
He is survived by his children – Thomas (Shirley) Cross of Sparta, IL; Mary Lu (Richard) Johnson of Marissa, IL; Jerry (Sharon) Cross of Marissa, IL. 6 grandchildren – John Cross; Katie Jeffers; Joey Ruester; Suzy Hake; Nathan Cross; Jonathan Cross. 10 great grandchildren – Deric; Alixandria; Devon; Hannah; Abbi; Joey; Jack; Jillian, Josie; Kaylee. 2 gr. gr. grandchildren – Hayden; Kallie.
