Dewey Shaw, aged 23 years, son of Mr. and Mrs. James C. Shaw of Orin, was drowned in the Platte River Tuesday afternoon near his home; his body not being recovered until two weeks later. Dewey spent most of his life on the ranch on which he was born, with the exception of the time he attended school in Douglas and that spent on his homestead which he took in Salt Creek in 1921.
