ARNETT LORENZO D. BUNTON is the son and only child of Jessie and Lizzie Bunton. He confessed Christ at an early age and was an active member of Grant Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church. He graduated from Anderson High School in Austin.

In 1936, he moved to Dallas and was united with the St. James AME Church. In 1939 he accepted his call to the Gospel Ministry and attended Southern Bible Institute.

He wed America Bell and they enjoyed 48 years of marriage.

Reverend A. D. Bunton was ordained Elder in the AME Church under Bishop George B. Young. He served as pastor at Brown Chapel, Maypearl, TX; St. James, Forreston, TX; St. James, Royce City, TX; Bethel, Greenville, TX; St. Stephen, Pittsburg, TX; Macedonia, Kaufman, TX; Brown Chapel, Pelham, TX; and Mt. Zion, Italy, TX where he was serving his 35th appointment at the time of his demise.
