Mrs. Martha Zilmer, 72, Dies While on Rockford Visit
While visiting in Rockford, Mrs. Martha Zilmer, 72, who made her home here with her daughter, Mrs. Clarence Day, 1808 - 16th avenue, suffered a heart attack and died this morning. Mrs. Zilmer had been spending the past 10 days with her sister, Mrs. Walter Burgy.
Martha Schneider, daughter of Carl Rudolph and Elizabeth Beller Schneider, was born Nov. 17, 1874, in Monroe. She was married Feb. 14, 1894, to Albert W. Zilmer and had always lived in Monroe except for about five years in Milwaukee. The Zilmers operated the bakery-restaurant on the north side of the square for many years, at the present site of the Masonic temple.
Mrs. Zilmer is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Day; two sons, Roy, Milwaukee, and Bertram, Alexandria, Va.; six brothers, Emil, George, and Otto, Monroe; Rudy of South Milwaukee; Louis of Belleville and William, Davenport, Iowa; two sisters, Mrs. Arthur Wagner, Monroe, and Mrs. Burgy, Rockford.
The body is at the Shriner-Neuenschwander funeral home where services will be at 3:15 Sunday afternoon, Rev. Paul C. Kehle, pastor of St. John's Evangelical church of which she was a member, will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Last rites were held at 3:15 yesterday afternoon in the Shriner-Neushwander funeral home for Mrs. Martha Zilmer. Rev. Paul C. Kehle, pastor of St. John's Evangelical church officiated and burial was in Greenwood cemetery. Nephews were pallbearers, John and Arthur Wagner, Edward, Othe, Roy and Donald Schneider.
Out of town people attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Roy Zilmer, Robert, and Maxine Zilmer; Mr. and Mrs. John Esperes Jr. and daughter Cynthia; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Schreck and son, Jeffrey; Mr.and Mrs. Clifford Larson and Mr.and Mrs. Paul Paul Austin, Milwaukee; Bertram Zilmer, Alexandria, Virginia; Mr.and Mrs. Walter Burgi, Rockford; Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Perkins, Beloit; Mr. and Mrs. Louis Schneider, Ray and Donald, Belleville; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Schneider, Blanchardville; Herbert Schneider, Madison; and Louis Leuenberger, Sun Prairie.
