ELLEN ANN HALL (NEE: SMITH) - 64

Mrs. Ellen A. Hall, of this city, died at Hopewell, Virginia on Saturday, the 15th. Mrs. Hall's death came as a shock to her family here, as she had only gone to Virginia a week or more on a visit to her son. When she left Palatka, she seemed in better health than in some time. The suddenness of her taking off came as an unexpected grief upon her sons and daughters, and they have the sincere sympathies of all Palatkans. The body was shipped to Bostwick for interment at Etoniah church cemetery, near which place she lived for many years. Mrs. Hall was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church for many years and her funeral was conducted by her old pastor, Rev. J.N. Hall. Mrs. Hall was possibly best remembered as the widow of the late Captain John H. Harvey, a former county commissioner, and for more than 50 years a valued teacher in the public schools of this county. She after wards married John W. Hall, of Hastings, who still survives. She is also survived by 5 sons and 2 daughters. These live in Hastings, Pierson, Bostwick, Palatka and Hopewell, Virginia, all of whom are deeply grateful to the friends in Hopewell, and here, for their many acts of kindness.
