Sharon Ann Townsend, 61, of Washburn, died December 12 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St.Louis. Mrs. Townsend was born March 31,1939, in Tucumcari, New Mexico, the daughter of Stanley Hume and Okla Cavass Elliott. She was a graduate of White Rock School in Jane. She drove a school bus at Southwest of Washburn for about a year and worked in film processing at Wal-Mart in Bentonville, Arkansas. She married Tommy Townsend on May 26,1958, and he preceded her in death October 12,1980. Survivors include five sons, James Townsend,Jerry Townsend,Bill Townsend and Jake Townsend, all of Washburn, and Joe Townsend of Pierce City, one daughter, Judy Williams of Gateway,Arkansas; one brother, Slim Elliott of Sulphur Springs, Arkansas; and one sister, Wanda Kilgore of Noel. Services will be 1 p.m. tomorrow,December 16, at Fohn Chapel in Cassville with Rev. Bob Scott officiating. Burial will be in Cargile Cemetery in Washburn under the direction of Fohn Funeral Home of Cassville Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today, December 15, at the Funeral home.
