Goochland Virginia Light Artillery, Crutchfield's Artillery Battalion, G.W.C. Lee's Division, Army of Northern Virginia, C.S.A.

Residence: Goochland County VA; 18 years old; farmer; 6' tall, florid complexion, grey eyes, light red hair.
Enlisted on 4/15/1864 at Richmond, VA, he was mustered into the Goochland Virginia Light Artillery, as a Private.
Present on March & April and June & July 1864 Rolls.
Listed on Aug & Sept 1864 Roll as Absent, confined while awaiting court martial.
POW 4/6/1865 in Battle of Sailor's Creek, VA; confined 4/10/1865 in Point Lookout, MD; Oath of Allegiance 6/17/1865 there and released.

On 7/20/1902, age 56, living in Orchid, Louisa County, VA, he successfully applied for a Confederate Soldier's Penison due to heart & lung issues causing him to not be able to work as a farmer for the previous 2 years & 3 months. He was awarded $30 per annum.

Goochland Light Artillery was organized in May, 1861, with men recruited in Goochland County.
