After the death of his father in 1934, Saul worked to help support his widowed mother and seven children during the Great Depression. Saul served in the Army during World War II as a machine gun instructor at Fort Knox, KY.
After the war, he attended the University of Wisconsin before moving to Phoenix and then Los Angeles, where he enjoyed a long career as the top salesman for the largest roofing company in Southern California.
Saul was well liked by his family, friends and associates for his ability to tell a joke from a never-ending repertoire, and admired for his generosity to those in need. He was an avid reader, with particular interests in history and crime novels, and a fan of all sports, with particular affections for the Dodgers and Lakers.
Saul is survived by three children, Mark, Alan and Beth; one grandchild, Adam Isaacs; and four siblings, Jerome, Bernie, Ethel Stern and Mae Katz. He is predeceased by two siblings, George and Harold.
The funeral will be held on Thursday, Dec. 29, at noon, at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd., Boulder City, NV.
