Glen R. Walz, 17, of 269 North St., Feeding Hills, died Tuesday in Springfield Hospital. He was born in Holyoke, April 11, 1947, son of Victor H. and Ruth E. (Johnson) Walz and lived in Agawam for 16 years. He attended Agawam schools and was a member of the senior class at Agawam High School. He was a charter member of Grace Lutheran Church, West Springfield, an acolyte at the church and a member of the Young People's Society of the church. He was known in this area as an accordionist, performing with his own band for hospital and Veteran's affairs throughout Western Massachusetts. Besides his parents, he leaves a brother, Randy, and a sister, Miss Diane Walz, both of Agawam; his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Elsie (Clapp) Johnson of Feeding Hills; his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Christine (Preisler) Walz of this city, and several aunts and uncles. The funeral will be held in Grace Lutheran Church Thursday at 2 p.m. Rev. Donald F. Jung, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Springfield St. Cemetery, Feeding Hills (Agawam). Calling hours at the Curran-Jones funeral home are today, 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Lutheran Church to establish a memorial in his name.
