Daniel Homer Sovey, 66, a Douglas resident, died October 28th at his home. He was the son of Homer Daniel and Edith (Grotten) Sovey. He was reared and educated in Tupper Lake and graduated from Tupper Lake High School. He attended a welding trade school in New York. Mr. Sovey worked as a welder for General Electric in Schenecday, N.Y. He married Beth Eileen Lumley on Feb. 24, 1957, in Canton, N.Y. They moved to Douglas in 1979, where Mr. Sovey worked for Exxon Highland Uranium Mine, then Allied Chemical in Green River for two years. The family moved back to Douglas and he went to work for North Antelope Coal Mine until his retirement. He is survived by his wife, Beth, of Douglas; children Curtis Sovey of Thermopolis and Valerie Krivanec of Gillette; brothers Norman Sovey and Tom Sovey, both of Tupper Lake; seven grandchildren; and a great granddaughter.
