Ardath Hughs Cooper
Ardath Hughs Cooper, 91, of Moultrie passed away on Saturday, June 9, 2007, at her residence after a lengthy illness. Born in Brooks County, she was the daughter of Joseph Edward Sr. and Pet Johnson Hughs. Mrs. Cooper was a retired school teacher for the Brooks County School System and a member of the Quitman Church of Christ.
She is survived by four sons and daughter-in-laws, Emory and Mary Beth Cooper of Charleston, S.C., Willis E. and Sandra Cooper of Quitman, Robert and Dianna Cooper of Moultrie, Hugh and Lynn Cooper of Moultrie; 15 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; and numerous great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pet and Joseph Edward Hughs, and her husband, Willis Blaine Cooper.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 11, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. in the Quitman Church of Christ with Mr. Carl Walker officiating. Burial will follow in Welcome Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 4-6 p.m. In lieu of floral tributes, donations may be made to Georgia Christian School in Dasher, Ga.
