80 husband of Ruby Gross departed this life on Wed., Sept. 5, 2012 to be with The Lord. In addition to his wife he is survived by daughters, Brenda (Jim) Halcomb of Harlan, KY, Kandy (Greg) Stanley of Knoxville, TN, Kelly (Tom) Bannon of Louisville, KY; sons, Michael A. (Cendi) Gross and Darrell G. Gross, both of Lexington. He also left behind seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. Other family members who mourn his loss include his two brothers, B.F. "Frank" Gross of Lexington and James "Jim" Gross of St. Louis, MO, and special cousin, Raymond B. Farley and wonderful uncle, Clark J. Gross, both of Lexington and other extended family members, and many other close friends and relatives.
He was preceded in death by his father, U.S. Marshal, Orville Gross and mother, Maggie Pannell Gross Rowe.
In more than 50 years of work in sales, Bob never missed one day of work due to illness of any kind. But in his "Golden Years" it was Parkinson's disease that took him away.
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Monday at Milward-Man O' War, 1509 Trent Blvd. with interment at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Visitation at Milward-Man O War will be from 4 to 8 pm Saturday. Memorial contributions are suggested to Clays Mill Road Church of God or the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Disease
