Carl R. South, 74 of St. Rt. 772 Otway, died on Thursday September 6, 2012 at the Southern Ohio Medical Center, Portsmouth, Ohio. He was born on August 26, 1938 in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Howard and Thelma Leota Pyles South. He was united in marriage on August 8, 1969 to Vicki Sue Wolfe South who survives. Also surviving are two sons: Bruce South and Brad South of Otway. Three grandchildren, a sister-in-law: Barb Arnold and husband Jim, one aunt, and numerous cousins. He was a farmer, served as Farm Service Agent for 35 years, was a Rarden Township Trustee with 24 years of service, was a member of the Rarden Fire Dept. and an EMT with 52 years of service to the community. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at Botkin Funeral Home in Otway with Pastor George Vastine officiating. Burial will follow in the Mustard Cemetery, Rarden, Ohio. Friends may call on Monday from 5;00-8;00 P.M. and Tuesday from 10:00-11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.
