David Henry Cabrera, Sr., 60, of Las Vegas, passed away suddenly July 8, 2010. He was born Feb. 12, 1950, in Corona, Calif.

At the age of 19, he served in the Vietnam War. He lived in Las Vegas for 30 years. He was currently employed as a plumber with the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local #525.

David is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Adrian Abitia; son and daughter-in-law, David Jr. and Cathie Cabrera; son and daughter-in-law, Abel and Jennifer Cabrera; daughter, Ranee Cabrera; son and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Lori Bringhurst; brother, Fernie; sisters, Rosie, Rachel and Nellie; brothers, Danny and Fred; sister, Beatrice; 16 grandchildren, Ronnie, Christina, Adriana, Adryna, David III, Amanda, Big Jesse, Lil' Jesse, Jojo, Angel, Angelina, Jenna, Trey, Elliana, Martine and Cailyn; and many friends. David resided with his son, Abel, his wife and their children. He was a proud father and grandfather. Family was the most important to him in life. His most cherished times were those spent was with his family -- his pride and joy. His greatest accomplishment was his children, which he expressed proudly at any given opportunity. He was especially proud of his grandchildren and held a special bond with each and every one. He gave unconditional love and valued his family and friends dearly. He was a generous, kind man that lived life to the fullest. No words unspoken, he said it like it was. Those who crossed his path were sure to have many laughs and walked away with nothing less than a smile. That big smile and chuckling laugh could be seen and heard from across the room; he was the life of the party. One of David's favorite sayings, with a smile, a chuckle and a Budweiser in one hand, "Remember the Alamo." He was known for his sense of humor, wise cracks and jokes, but it was his passion for his family that made him who he was and adored by so many. He was loved by all, will be missed by many and forgotten by none, ("Duh," as he would have so boldly interjected). Good times and great memories he has left behind. David's life was too short, but those who were blessed to know him would understand that the quality of his existence far exceeds the quantity of time. If love would have saved him, he would have lived forever. David will always be remembered as a loving, wonderful father, grandfather, brother and friend; a great man. David's final quote: "I'm gonna miss all you brats..."

Visitation will be 1-5 p.m. Friday, July 16, and from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, July 17, with services immediately following, all at Palm Mortuary, 6701 N. Jones Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89131.
