DIED FROM INJURIES

J. J. Myler, who was so badly injured in the cyclone which destroyed his home near Hanston Tuesday of last week, died of his injuries Wednesday morning, after a week of terrible suffering. He was so badly crushed and bruised that there was no hope for him.

The body was brought to the home of his father-in-law, A. J. Baughman yesterday, and the funeral will be held from the house at 4:30 Friday afternoon. Rev. Irwin and Rev. Barton will conduct the services. The Modern Woodmen will have a part in the services. Interment will be in the Larned cemetery.

James Jones Myler was born in Cumberland county, Illinois, June 24, 1869, and was 40 years and 27 days old at the time of his death. He moved with his father's family to Wilson county, Kansas in 1877, and some twelve years later to Pawnee county.

On August 17, 1890, he was married to Ede N. Baughman at Larned. To this union nine children have been born, seven boys and two girls, all of whom together with his wife, survive him. The oldest is 18 years old and the youngest 4 weeks.

Mr. Myler was a member of the M. E. church. He was a kind and loving husband and father, and was held in high esteem by his neighbors and friends. He was an active member of the M. W. A. and was prominent in its work. The sincerest sympathy of the community goes out to Mrs. Myler and her children in their bereavement.

E. W. Myler and Miss Ada Myler, of Iola, came upon hearing of their brother's accident, and were here at his death.

Mrs. Myler, who collar bone was broken in the storm, is getting along as well as could be expected, as are also the two children who were injured.
