Violet Haga Stacy, age 87, passed away Aug. 4, 2010, at the Cambridge House. She was a lifelong resident of the Bristol area and a daughter of the late Conley and Lena Whicker Haga.

She was the widow of the late Virgil Stacy and was also preceded in death by a grandson, Clark Stacy; five sisters, Lucille Odum, Virginia Bowers, Bertha Lovins, Connie Lovins and Ethel Lovins.; also three brothers, Herman Haga, Haynes Haga and Gene Haga.

Mrs. Stacy was a charter member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Joy Stacy Carr and husband Allen, of Kernersville, N.C., and Rita Stacy Osborne and husband, Marcus, of Kingsport, Tenn.; three sons, Victor S. Stacy and wife, Connie, of Knoxville, Tenn.; Dwain Stacy and wife, Gail, of Bristol Tennessee, and Timothy L. Stacy, of Knoxville; nine grandchildren, Stacy Carr Vera and husband, Matt, Britton Carr and wife, Kate, Candace Stacy, Jill Stacy Thurman and husband, Andrew, Matthew Osborne and, wife, Rachel, Garrett Stacy, Austin Stacy, Angela Lanham and Brandon Lanham; three great-grandchildren, McKinley Thurman, Noah Lanham and Caelen Demaret; five sisters, Elva Vaughan and Helen Pagel, both of Knoxville, June Stoots, of Bristol Virginia, Billie Galloway Simcox, of Johnson City, Tenn., and Agnes Roberts of Charlotte, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Violet H. Stacy will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, 2010, at Aldersgate United Methodist Church with Pastor Steve Gott officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Andrew Thurman, Matt Vera, Britton Carr, Garrett Stacy, Austin Stacy, Matthew Osborne and Bill Arnold. Honorary pallbearers will be members of her Sunday school class.
