Stromsmoe Funeral Thursday

Word was received today that Olaf M. Stromsmoe, 81, of Etzikom died Monday morning in Medicine Hat General Hospital following a lengthy illness.

Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. R. J. Thompson of the Foremost United Church at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Etzikom Community Hall. Interment will follow in the Etzikom cemetery.

Mr. Stromsmoe was born Nov. 21, 1881, in Polk County, Minnesota. He married Laura Bangen June 15, 1907, and moved to a homestead at Pendant d'Oreille in 1909. In 1826, the couple moved to Etzikom where they lived until the time of Mr. Stromsmoe's death.

He is survived by his wife, Laura, two daughters, Mrs. Earl Sergeant of Claresholm and Mrs. Phyllis (Richard) Hobbs of Campsie; three sons, Allan of Warner, Jerome and Wendell of Etzikom, and one sister, Mrs. Joe Zitik of Watford City, North Dakota. There are 34 grandchildren and 33 great-grand children.

He was predeceased by two sons and two daughters.

Pallbearers will be Ralph Courtney, Paul Setter, Henry Finstead, Knute Mattsson, Sam Robinson and Milton Eckstrand. Medicine Hat News, Tuesday, March 26, 1963
